Adult Hearing Loss
I originally trained as an electrician after leaving school between 2002 and 2005. I continued to work in various electrical and engineering roles until around 2009 when I began a career in healthcare, supporting individuals with leaning disability, mental ill health and associated challenging behaviour before joining Novus Health in March 2017 as assistant technical officer in the audiology service.
I have always had a keen interest in sound. After completing a music degree I engaged with the study of hearing and balance.
During training in audiology I found that I thrived in a position where my scientific knowledge and inherent caring nature could be used to help people overcome the challenges of hearing loss.
Following this I was fortunate to gain a position at Novus Health where I continue to practice my skills in a community setting. This particular role offers a person centred working environment which is specific to my style of audiological rehabilitation.
Having worked for 20 years in the NHS I left my post as Head of Adult Rehabilitation at Pinderfields to work for The Tinnitus Clinic managing their Manchester office. During this time I developed my own private practice in Sheffield and a company specialising in Hearing Health Surveillance for industry.
I approached Novus Health Ltd in June of 2012 with regards to building an AQP service for Adult Hearing Loss and the service was launched in January of 2012. We now offer a complete range of hearing aids from In the Ear to Super Power.
